Here is the latest news and upcoming events for Victoria Bowmen:
Thursday Night Indoor Shoots
Thursday night shooting at Saanich Commonwealth Place begins November 5th and shooting will take place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Renew your club membership now and save $37.50, BCAA has reduced their cost from $75 to $37.50 until the end of this year for RENEWALS only, so we encourage you to renew your membership now (click here to go directly to the renewal page). The new system is completely automated and allows you to sign your waivers, print off your membership card (remember to wear it on your quiver at club events) and qualify for the Archery Canada insurance. Pretty good deal! Note, we’re the first club in Canada to use the new system.
World Archery has announced that clubs may host qualification events for the 2021 World Indoor Series, we are considering hosting one or more events, if you are interested, please let our Tournament Director (Billy) know. More information on the World Series.
Safety on the Range
Members are reminded that ALL archers must shoot from the gravel shooting line at the same time and all archers must wait for shooting to be finished before collecting arrows; this includes the bags.
NO ONE may be forward of the shooting line when someone is shooting.
Members can bring out more round butts if someone with a key is present, but they must be put away in the container upon completion.
We are working on getting another butt placed closer.
Range Safety Officers
The club could use some more qualified Range Safety Officers; it is just a matter of taking an online course on the Archery Canada Website
New Range Update
The Langford staff are now working on updating the plans for the outdoor range, they probably won’t be any further updates until the new year.
Next Board Meeting
The next board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on November 19th at Saanich Commonwealth Place
