- Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the August 27, 2019 meeting were approved. M. Jarrod Ball, S. Larry Gagnon. Carried.
- Reports Around the Room
Helena Myllyniemi: The biggest expenses for this period were the butts; the club is expecting more income from archery classes.
Larry Gagnon: There are 189 members recorded for this year, this also includes those who have registered for next year. Work is in progress on an update to the membership page as the payment options make the page a little clumsy. Every new member is informed on the status of the outdoor range so they are able to make an educated decision on becoming a member.
Greg Cargill: JOP has had a quiet start to the fall but hopes for a pick-up in attendance as the winter carries on. There is a problem with the email account for the JOP coordinator so Greg is using his personal email for correspondence.
Jarrod Ball: There are two adult classes in progress including one “continuing archery” class; the attendance is 16 and 18 people respectively. The classes are very popular and new sessions are starting soon.
Vesa Myllyniemi: no report
Lisa: no report
- Business Arising from the Minutes
Al Wills: West Shore Recreation will not agree to host the Victoria Bowmen because of safety concerns. There are no strong leads currently; please encourage members to bring forward any ideas. It may be possible to link with the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association is necessary, or the club may become an indoor-only club for some time.
- A bid has been accepted to split the 2021 Canadian Championships between Cranbrook (3D Archery) and Victoria (Target/Field Archery).
- New Business
Al Wills: People teaching for Saanich Commonwealth need to have the proper qualifications:
- Child Protection Qualification (can be completed online)
