Hello from your Victoria Bowmen Board of Directors,

Here is the latest news from our meeting tonight:

Congratulations and Good Bye to Lorrie,
Our faithful membership director (formerly Secretary) and frequent judge Lorrie Sommerville is now Lorrie Starkweather, as of her marriage last weekend. The club presented her with a Victoria Bowmen Crystal vase and our best wishes as she moves to Washington State. She said we are all welcome to visit! On behalf of you all the president thanked Lorrie for her many years of service to the club.

JOP Outdoor a Success:
The club hosted the southern region JOP Outdoor last Sunday, although there were fewer archers than in the past, the shoot was well attended and superbly hosted. Every participant got a draw prize and there was a lucrative 50/50 draw. The target range was in beautiful condition, the food was fantastic and the tournament was enjoyed by all! Thank you to all those who  helped out, your assistance is appreciated!

Next Shoot:
Please mark your calendars and come out July 9th & 10th to enjoy any type of archery. July 9 is a FITA Star, July 10 is a FITA Star combined with a fun 900 round and a 3D on the mountain course. Lunch will be served on the BBQ around 12:00 so please come out and join us!

**Club Finances:**
No good news on this front, we have just paid our tax bill, which was over $7000.00, we have been informed that next year it will be over $10,000.00! Obviously the club cannot continue at this pace, something will have to be done, we will have to increase revenue somehow and the most obvious way is a major increase in dues! With the indoor rental this puts our expenses before any maintenance at over $14K, or in membership terms, 140 members before we can spend anything on expenses at the club.

This will be discussed at length at the AGM, if you have any suggestions or comments, please contact the President at 592-1950 or Al Wills 474-4909 or you can contact both or either one via their addresses on the website http://www.victoriabowmen.com.

Range upkeep:
Please remember to pick up after yourself and take any garbage away with you, if you cannot please use the receptacles provided, the club does not have garbage pickup so your cooperation is appreciated.

Volunteers Needed:
It is time to start thinking about volunteering to assist on the 06 VB Board of Directors and other ways you could assist in running the club. As noted above this will be a difficult year, so we need more input from all of you! Please check out the website, all the positions are listed in the club constitution. Your assistance is requested. It only takes a few hours a month and one meeting a month, which seldom last longer than an hour, the club needs you!

Next Board Meeting:
Next meeting is August 15th, the entire Board is requested to be there to prepare for the AGM (September 26th)

Annual General Meeting:
Tuesday September 26th at the Clubhouse, snacks served.
