Victoria Bowmen Newsletter April 2005
Hello, here is the news from our last Board Meeting (April 25, 2005) Gate Access: We have recently received a notice from the Base that we should be reminding all our members that you and your vehicle are subject to search whenever you enter or leave the range area. While this will not be an every day occurrence, it could happen at anytime. You may be asked to show picture identification with your membership card, please cooperate with the Commissionaires. Should you have any problems or complaints, please contact the President or Al Wills, DND Liaison (474-4909 al@archeryguy.com). We are aware of a delay in the new membership cards, our hardworking membership chair has run out of new cards, the new order is approved and the cards should be along very shortly! Work Party: Our yearly 'Clean up the Range for Summer' Work party will be held Saturday May 7th 0900 - Noon - Please bring along wheelbarrows, gardening tools, pruners, rakes etc. Lunch will be served (Free). We request maximum participation, Moms, Dads, kids JOP, Target archers, 3D Archers etc. etc, 'Many hands make light work'!! It is very important that everyone support this event! Lawn Chairs: The club owns the white resin lawn chairs that you may see out on the range, that isn't where they should be. If you use one, you should return it to the container after you are finished with it. The sunlight is very hard on them, not to mention the fact that they may 'get lost'!! Dogs: Dogs should be on a leash at all times while at the range, you just do not want to take a chance that your dog may chase a deer or other wildlife and cause your dog to be taken by the Conservation Officers. Also if your dog tends to bark while in the vehicle or carrier, please do not leave them unattended. Garbage: The club does not have garbage pickup, so if you could please take some garbage back out with you, it would be very much appreciated. If you must leave garbage, please use the garbage cans. Webpage: The club's webpage (http://www.victoriabowmen.com) has just gone through a bit of a reorganisation, the page is a repository for all of the club activities, if you have any comments or suggestions, please contact Al (474-4909 al@archeryguy.com) . T-Shirts: We are about to order T-Shirts, so our JOP members will look good at the JOP outdoor tournament this year, if you want one ordered for you, you must contact Vanessa (secretary@victoriabowmen.com) by this Saturday. The shirts are $15 (sorry no pictures available yet). If you would like a Golf shirt (approx $30 or any of the other club items, now is the time, pictures and order forms are on the website. The order will be going in soon after Saturday. Queen Victoria Shoot: Don't forget our annual Queen Victoria Shoot (900 for the target archers and 3D for the 3D and traditional shooters) May 29th, 10AM lunch served for a small fee. Next Board Meeting: May 30, 1900 (7PM) at the clubhouse. Remember, the club is for all of us, please keep it neat and report any problems to the President or a member of the Board. See you at the range! |
