Here is the latest news
about the club from our latest Board Meeting October 18th.
Good news this month!!
The grading of the new
outdoor range is finished! The fill has been brought in, the berm built, the
bulldozer has levelled the area and it is now ready for seeding, which we hope
to do at a work party we have booked for October 29th 0900. We hope
you can all attend; we will need rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, gloves and lots
of hands to pick rocks and prepare the site. Lunch will be served. Please come
out and be a part of this historic occasion.
We are now shooting indoors
on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 – 3:30 PM and Thursday evenings from 7:40 – 9:40
PM. Please check out our website (victoriabowmen.com) for a map. This is a
gorgeous facility, well lit and great for shooting.
You
are reminded to wear you membership card prominently (on your quiver is
suggested) while shooting both indoors and outdoors
Indoor Tournaments
We will be hosting local
tournaments indoors each month, they will be run as fun events so our members
can learn how archery tournaments are run. If you do not want to shoot, there
will be room to shoot adjacent to the tournament butts. The first event will be
13th of November at 2 PM, then on the 11th of December
again at 2 PM.
We
will also host the 2012 MICA (Multi-Sites Indoor Championships of the Americas),
this is a ‘postal’ tournament where tournaments are held throughout the Americas
and the results are posted and winners announced on the Coparco website. This
event will be on the 22nd of January. For more information contact

2012 Nationals
As previously announced we
will be hosting the 2012 Canadian Championships at West Shore Recreation next
summer (9 -12 August). Our first information meeting for this event will be held
after shooting on the 27th of November at 3:30PM. Please come out to
hear what we need from our members for this event.
2012 Memberships
Membership are now available
for 2012. While your membership is valid until December 31st, if you
want to renew early, please contact our membership director Larry Gagnon,
lagaganon@gmail.com or 382-1266
