THE VICTORIA
BOWMEN ASSOCIATION
Newsletter
June, 2011
Hello Victoria Bowmen
Members,
Here is the latest news
about the club from our latest Board Meeting June 6th.
Not quite so optimistic for news on the new range this month, unfortunately we ran into a bit of unplanned bureaucracy and are now working with the cooperation of View Royal to ensure we develop the property properly. We have surveyed the property and had it assessed environmentally and we hope to start work again in the next few weeks. We, do however, have a place to shoot, the ground is a bit rough, but it is ours none the less! Shooting times are still Sundays 1 - 4 and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9, please come out and join us.
Work Party/Open House
We want to start using our new home as much as possible, so we've scheduled a
full day of activities for July the16th. It all starts at 1000 with a work
party, we need to do an inventory and repairs to the contents of our container,
then at 1200, we'll have a BBQ with an archery Garage Sale, so bring along you
spare archery stuff to buy, sell or trade. Then we'll shoot some arrows, we'll
host a field round on our new 'Bag Course', and then shoot some target. Please
come out and participate and get to know your fellow members.
Our volunteers who run the archery lessons and camps need some help, no
experience
necessary just an interest in archery and a willingness to help out.
These are paid positions, please contact Al (250) 474-4909
Next Board Meeting:
The next Board meeting will
be July 16th at the range just before the work party.
Looking forward to seeing
you all on the range soon!
Straight arrows and Good
Shooting!
