2012 Championships Meeting January 17, 2012

 

-       In attendance:  Al Wills, Mary Wills, Bruce Somers, Bev Somers, James Collett, Tracy Nguyen, Larry Gagnon.

-       Al presented the Budget for review, it is as up-to-date as possible as of today, the anticipated grant is not included.

-       Al presented the ‘To Do’ list, which will outline all our activities for the event:

·       The Host Manual, which outlines the instructions of hosting the event is available on line at: http://www.archerycanada.ca/images/stories/FCA/Forms/hostmanuals/2010TargetFieldhostmanualJUL10.pdf . Al suggested that all who are interested in assisting could have a look at it.

·       Opening BBQ – All agreed that this is a good opportunity to officially open our new range, parking will be a challenge, we may need to make some new parking areas near the entrance.

·       During the event our offices will be at the Kinsmen field house on the grounds near the event fields.

·       Al will bring the list to next Sunday’s shooting and present it to those members to get more help.

·       Need standing committees to start soon!

 

·       Budget – Al submitted the first draft budget to those present.

·       Refreshments etc, we will probably supply water, however, the West shore recreation is a ‘closed’ shop for selling of anything else. Al will check into how much might be allowed.

·       Opening BBQ – traditionally an opening BBQ is held to welcome competitors to the community, Al asked if it might be a good idea to tie this into an opening of the new range, that way we could use our own caterer, parking would be a problem and a shuttle system might have to be worked out. Parking could be on the range as it will be in August.

·       During the event our offices will be at the Kinsmen field house on the grounds near the event fields.

·       Volunteers are need for specific jobs, plus a ‘field crew of 4 or so will be needed daily for butt changes etc.

·       It would be nice to produce a program so add space could be sold, needs a volunteer chair.
