THE VICTORIA BOWMEN ASSOCIATION

Minutes Annual General Meeting September 26, 2011

1.              CALL TO ORDER

            Meeting was held at the Church of the Advent 510 Mount View, Victoria, BC, called to order by the President at 19:30.

In attendance: Helena Myllyniemi, Al Wills, Tracy Klat, Larry Gagnon, George Trattner, Rosemary Williams, Hugh Williams, Rob Bamfield, A. Rawes, James Collett, Jeff East, Bev and Bruce Somers (2 other members whose signature could not be read)

2. CHAIRMAN’S OPENING REMARKS

            The Chairman thanked everyone for coming out and that no notices of motion had been received for this meeting, which makes this meeting purely informational and to elect officers.

3. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS AGM

The minutes of the 2010 AGM minutes were distributed at the meeting, the minutes had also been on the website since October of 2010.

            To accept the minutes of the 2010 Annual General Meeting M/B. Somers 2^nd T. Klat Carried.

4. REPORTS:

a)         President – report attached

b)         Vice President – verbal report – We need more coaching support, Bruce reminded those assembled that the club supports those wishing to take coaching certification courses. He was happy to report that View Royal council is most supportive of the club despite the bureaucratic hiccups. Bruce is hopeful that the weather will hold for some of the grounds work to be completed before the rains come. We hope to get the other container moved on site, fence up and the road work to be done by year end.

g)         Junior Olympian Director – no report

h)         Equipment Director – verbal report – Stayed stable, only some costs for classes and reworking the nets at Saanich Commonwealth Place, including the ‘sandwich’ poster board and pamphlets.

6. ELECTION OF OFFICERS

Bruce Somers took the chair to present the nominating committee’s recommendations for the 2012 slate of officers, the following were elected.

 President – Al Wills

Vice President – Bruce Somers

Secretary – Mary Wills

Treasurer – Helena Myllyniemi

Membership Director – Larry Gagnon

Tournament Director - Tracy Klat

Junior Olympian Director – Mary Wills

Equipment Director - George Trattner

Social Director – Bev Somers

Tuesday October 18^th 7:30pm at the Wills’

            Members present gave their thoughts on the association and questions were answered
