Minutes Board of Directors Meeting October 27, 2008

 1. CALL TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order at 7:29PM by the President

In attendance:

Tracy Klat, George Trattner, Al Wills, Sharon Cunningham, Mary Wills, Allison Weick, Bradley Clements, Bruce Reed, Greg Birtwistle,

Absent:  Doug Bell, Sonja Bell, Lynn Brochu, Helena Myllyniemi, Bruce Somers

2. CHAIRMAN’S OPENING REMARKS

Greg thanked everyone for showing up and agreeing to stay on as directors.

3. CORRESPONDENCE

·       None

 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

5. REPORTS:

·       a. Juniors - Brad/Allison - JOP indoors had a good turnout with new kids showing up. This weekend is the outdoors Pumpkin shoot at 10am – all welcome

·       b. Tournament - Tracy – will be emailing regulars for their preferences for tournament dates.

·       c. 3D – Bruce – will try to hold tournaments earlier this year, probably Feb/Mar. Will brainstorm on Sat with regular 3D shooters for exact dates

·       d.  Membership - Al – stands at 116, with 15 new, but down 20 from last year. Need to encourage kids from JOP to join. Tues night sparse attendance, only 2-3 adults. Has list of members for Commissionnaires – contains only names not addresses this year. Reminder to all that membership dues are required by 1 Jan 2009.

·       e. JOP - Mary – Sat mornings @10 kids attending, usually from 10 – 1200, but paying for 4 hours

·       f. Equipment - George -  equip is in good shape, no immediate need for $ for replacements. 10 registered for next course at the Commonwealth. Container for equipment had lock broken, however, no equipment taken

6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

·       None

7. NEW BUSINESS

·       Al will contact the school to see if we could pay for less time as Sat is usually only 2 hours, not 4

·       Indoor – very little attendance Tues nights b/w 8-10pm, so will put an advert in new newsletter to attempt to boost turnout.

·       3D animals – Doug informed Bruce that he will finish acquiring new 3D animals

·       Fund – Al will invite reps from Juan de Fuca to next meeting to discuss Vic Bowmen investing $ with them

·       Tent damaged by wind at FITA, will need to be repaired

·       Greg donated longbow to United Way -> good promo for the club
