Minutes Board of Directors Meeting January 8, 2007
1. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 7:36 PM by the President Greg Birtwistle

2. CHAIRMAN’S OPENING REMARKS
Greg Welcomed all and thanked everyone for showing up and especially thanked those who had helped put the 900 butts back up. He pointed out the new calendar on the inside of the back door to list shoots.
3. CORRESPONDENCE
- DND Renewal, which renews our licence for another year on a 'month to month basis.
- Juan de Fuca Recreation confirmation of timing changes
- BC Assessment authority latest property value
4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS

5. REPORTS:
o a. Treasurer - Helena - Bank balance is at an all time low, although we have a number of revenues incoming, Saanich owes us over $1000 and we have a $400 credit at JDF.
§ Pearkes arena lessons are starting January 24th and the next 2 Commonwealth pool sessions are full ~ we will have to get the butts etc over to Pearkes
o b. Vice President - Bruce - no report
o c. JOP - Mary - JOP starts again this Saturday only 1 session (1015 - 1300), the archers are enjoying it more, Mary Ostermeier has indicated that awards are coming soon.
o c. Equipment - George - Classes have been switched to Sat AM, this set will be the last Indoor sessions, will start outdoor In April.
o d. Membership - Lynn - Memberships are 'trickling in' seems to be working fine, about 50 members right now.
o e. Juniors (Brad & Allison) - Another JOP newsletter will be out for Jan.
o Tournaments - Tracy - Next tournaments (Indoor FITA 1 (18m) Feb and Mar 3 - Team Yukon will be visiting us for the Feb shoot.
§ Plans are still going for a Judging Course possibly end Mar, still gathering information
§ No response from BCAA for a Coaching Course, still in the planning stages
o 3D Representative - Doug thanked all those who have been out in the inclement weather getting ready for the 3D shoots.
§ Doug also confirmed that JOPs would be most welcome at the 3D shoot(s)
6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
The group read through and provided feedback on the policies.
7. NEW BUSINESS
a. - Meeting Al & Greg with new properties officer ~ not much good news, however, we have been told this many times before, so it was decided that all we could do was 'business as usual'.
b. - 3D range at McCauley Point - This became a 'no go' due to cost.
c. - Shelter on our property for indoor shooting - the Properties Officer confirmed that such a structure would not be possible.
d. - Ed Sherman (the soldier who won the United Way raffle bow), has been deployed, so his lessons will have to be differed.
e. - General Motors coaching grants - Discussion held on the new program by GM - Tracy will take the forms and see how it looks for us.
e. - Valentine Day fun shoot - Lynn and Mary will meet to progress this idea.
8. DISBURSEMENTS FOR APPROVAL
- Josh still owed for his Commonwealth Pool work, Helena can disburse as soon as he gets his paperwork into her.
