Tracy Klat reported that the next Tournament is the FCA Indoors on March 6.  Start at 12:00 for practice.  Please contact me if you will be attending, limited space and time. Will be raffle for a FCA shooting jersey.  Tickets are 3 for $5. Cost for the shoot is Sr/Ma $18 (15 + 3) and Jr/Cd/Cub/Pc (15 + 1) Team is $10.

I did receive the Indoor Targets.

Club merchandise:  I ordered 2 vests, 6 hats, 5 towels. I have also created an order form with my suggested prices, I have price + tax + approx. $2 = Price. I would like to have a spot on the website with our merchandise along with its picture.  I would like to put an order in for May 1, then again in October.

5.7.    JOP:

Cliff Allan advised that we had 38 kids participate in the JOP Regionals. I charged a fee of $5.00, half goes to the BCAA ($95.00). The other $95.00 goes into the JOP travel fund.

We have about 40 kids going to the JOP Championship on March 14.  We did a shoot-a-thon and so far have raised $785.00. There are a few more kids to bring their money.  I will need a cheque for $650.00 for the ferry fees.  We are on the 7:00am ferry going over and on the 7:00pm ferry coming back.  Lynch has a bus waiting to take us to the Abbotsford and will pick us up at 5:00pm for the trip home.  It will be a great trip.

As of March 20th we will start outdoors.  We will be on the FITA field from 9:30am to 12:00.  There could be over 60 kids if they all come.  I could use a lot of helpers with coaching, so if there is anyone who would like to help, please come out.  You could coach and after 12:00 shoot.  This year we are hosting the JOP Outdoor Championships.  I will try to get as many of our kids to participate.  Also this is a BC GAMES year. Those who are eligible (12) are the last year for cubs and first year for cadets.  That is, you must be 14 or 15 as of July 15th, the opening day. The longest distance is 55 meters, which many have never shot.  I am setting up a special time for just these archers, possible Wednesday night. Once day light savings time starts, we will also be shooting on Tuesday and Thursday nights 6:00/6:30 to dark.  We could have a very busy summer.

COMMONWEALTH PLACE

We have started another kids class. Today was the second time with four more.  I hope to get one or two into the club. We have a full class with 20 and a waiting list.  Sophie has been a great help.

5.12.  3-D/Bowhunting: additional report

Bruce Reed advised that the 3-D and field course team has laid out a trail with hopes of using it as the clubs main field course.  We had 20 animals over a field of about 20 acres allowing lots of room between shots in most cases and minimized the bunching up of shooting groups. The turnout was excellent with 67 shooters. We thought we had 70 only to discover that we were no the only ones adding names to the board and found several duplicates and one walk around that did not shoot. This is a higher participation than most of us could recall for a Vic-Bowmen 3-D.  Two of the members, Jim Birtwistle and Bob Walczak, cooked and served lunch, which went over well.  We had a food prize table that was added to by three local businesses (Honda City, B.C. Aquifier, and a local Plastering Company) which increases tickets sales and chances for participants to win something.

Most thought the shoot was well worth coming to so we look forward to having a similar participation for the next 3-D on April 25th.   The financial report is attached.
