Meeting called to order 19:02
1.0 President’s opening remarks.
Brief reminder of the running format of the meeting and that instead
of following agenda, we would just run reports by going around the
room and addressing specific people as required.
2.0 Correspondence:
Al received copy of clubhouse fire department inspection for property.
Failed due to lack of fire extinguisher and also missing “CSA” certification
from wood stove. Action: Al Wills to call for building inspection
and also try to track down 2 fire extinguishers.
3.0 Approval of Minutes from previous meetings:
Moved by Mary Wills, seconded by Bruce Comers that the “Minutes provided
for the previous (Mar 10th, 2003) BOD meeting be accepted as supplied.

4.0 Acceptance of Agenda for tonight’s meeting bypassed.
5.0 Reports:
5.1 President: Talks continue for possibility of
joint building project with Victoria Football, however current estimated
building cost in now in excess of $400,000 which makes it cost prohibitive
for Victoria Bowmen to partner. However, should additional funding/partners
in the project come forward, there is still the possibility that it
could happen. Al and Bruce have upcoming meetings with associated
parties to discuss funding from BC Lotteries, Juan de Fuca Rec. or
even the Navy as potential other partners.

members that have not paid for 2003 dues and are trying to find work

We had 16 archers. Metal winners at our site were Angela Cramer 1st,
Lynne Durward 2nd , Coleman Knight 2nd , and Eric Walker 3rd.

6. Business Arising From the Minutes
Bruce Somers requested report on Victoria Sports and Outdoors Show:
From – show went well considering the rush and apparent
disorganization from the show people. About 30 people took brochures
our of and estimated 100 –150 viewers per exhibition. Worth considering
with more preparation for following years. Special thank to Jim Bissenden
from Cowichan Bowmen for his wonderful MC work during the exhibition.
7.0 New Business:
7.1 – Agreed that the “official” shooting nights for the 2003 spring/summer season are as follows: JOP program – Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:60PM until sunset. Main “club” night (adults) would be Wednesday night for all new prospects to come out and learn about archery.
7.2 – Work Party (Club Clean UP Day for Tracy) for 2003 will be Saturday, May 3rd, starting at 9:00AM. “Todo list” to be posted on clubhouse chalkboard. Highlight for this year is a new roof on the clubhouse. Tracy Klat to investigate cost of disposal bin for days work. Mary Wills to organize food/BBQ.

dispersements/expenses presented be settled.
